Texas has nearly 400 universities and adult education schools, only three states have more universities than Texas: California, New York and Pennsylvania. Similarly, the Texas students and more than 1.2 million students in the second largest population (after California). Texas is one of eight states, more than 50% of the schools for commercial purposes.
There are two truly massive colleges in Texas. The University of Texas has more than 150,000 students enrolled, and locations in Austin, San Antonio, Arlington, El Paso, Brownsville, and Dallas. Texas A & M University has locations in Commerce, Corpus Christi, and Kingsville, and has more than 65,000 students.
